The 1Micro Way

At 1Micro, pride and product go hand-in-hand. But building a machine the 1Micro way means much more than just meeting production goals and passing the inspection tests. Every 1Micro product must be ready to perform in the real world before it leaves the facility.

This quest for perfection is part of the ongoing dedication of all those employed in the manufacture of 1Micro products, from the outside suppliers to the after-sale support groups.

The most important qualities of our assembly teams are their attention to detail and their personal pride. All members check their own work and are responsible for their own performance. This attention to proper fit and functional engineering produces a consistent product that delivers reliable performance job after job and year after year.

To further improve assembly line efficiency, new employees are trained in the 1Micro way of building, no matter what their prior experience. They are tested and graded at the end of this program, so we know they've mastered the machine before they set foot on the production floor.

The Industry's Most Thorough Testing Process

Before leaving the plant, the typical 1Micro SalesTouch machine is subjected to more than 300 quality-assurance tests, including a minimum of 168 (24 x 7) hours of actual running time while in Assembly. In fact, whenever a machine is not physically being worked on, it is running pre-programmed tasks to check operational tolerances and performance parameters.

Quality assurance follows each individual part from initial fabrication through subsequent installations. Static and operational testing continue as each component subassembly is added to the main assembly, providing a paper trail of certification through the entire assembly, testing and shipping process.

1Micro History

In 1993, Mr. Kris Terp founded Supersale.com to automate the process of getting vehicle inventories onto the internet. The company entered the handheld manufacturing industry with the first-ever fully integrated, VIN# scanning handheld with a digital imaging system. This device was used to analyze inventory for reconditioning and remarketing purposes with very accurate photo enriched descriptions.

The Supersale.com DigitalLot was a huge success, and during the next four years, the company expanded its product line to include a wide selection of fully automated, automotive specific data collection devices.

In 2001, Supersale.com became CDMdata. Mr. Terp left Supersale.com to become a Director of IT at Manheim's Dent Wizard division in 2001. Using his handheld development expertise, Mr. Terp spearheaded a project at Dent Wizard to move 1,200+ field technicians from a paper based invoicing system to a streamlined electronic smartphone invoicing system. This state of the art invoicing system saved Manheim millions in the first year alone. Mr. Terp started 1Micro in late 2001, and joined them fulltime as CEO in June of 2002. 1Micro purchased all the developmental rights to the SalesTouch inventory control system in late 2001 and launched it's first beta unit in the Spring of 2003.

Eventually CDMdata was acquired by Kelley Blue Book in 2004.

In 2003, Mr. Terp's non-compete contract regarding handheld development expired, thus allowing 1Micro to begin development in a substantially different direction with the development of its first handheld condition appraisal system, a system designed to out perform every aspect of current vehicle inventory operations. Aspects like as valuation, merchandising, marketing and distribution of data. This system, the LotMaster, will be introduced this fall at a cost competitive with current dealer operations.
