LOUISVILLE, KY - According to police, there have been multiple instances of dealership vehicle thefts within Louisville, due to easy access to keys.
Thieves have been breaking into new and used car dealerships, finding the keys, and leaving the lot with the cars in minutes. These keys aren’t secured either. Most likely on a keyboard, in an unlocked cabinet, or left on desks. Chief Barry Wilkerson highly recommends better security for controlling the keys, by even mentioning a “key dispenser” for the dealership, to reduce these painful situations.
